Sounds delightful. Indeed, Bethany Beach and surrounding areas would be very pleasant.
I'm still working full time, so I'm doubtful I could get away for 5 days. A long weekend might be more like it. Depending on scheduling, I could see participating for part of the time, e.g. Fri-Sun, Sat- Mon, or depending on the timing, a 4-day weekend.
Dogfish Head micro distillery was a delight. They have a Brewings & Eats location in Rehoboth. I could drink their gin and rum by the tumbler full but that was a fifteen years ago.
There's a 20% chance of rain on any given day in Rehoboth during the last week of September. I suggest picking a place that's has <10% odds of rain (Arizona? California?) or to be willing to reschedule on a last-minutes notice.
Makes sense. Surface level the primary logistical concerns are resolved e.g., food stops and overnighting. Coastal so it's not overly vigorous - doing a walk in talk in the mountains can leave you mostly walking but unable to talk.
Might identify a couple of places where folks can get their calves worked back out after 8-10 mile sandy beach walks.
I'm not familiar with the area - but assume the timing coincides with enough of a change in the weather to avoid humid/damp climate so it'll be more enjoyable.
Hope you're able to get a good group and have fun!

Don’t forget to climb the tower from WWII that was staffed to watch for Nazi subs etc.

Nice location and convenient to those of us from the Jerz. Could be some birders around.
This sounds very interesting.
Both weeks would work for me.

I can probably make this.
I’d be in but for another travel commitment in that window.
