I wasn’t expecting to make it through the whole interview, but I most definitely did. The interviewer did a fantastic job of intermixing thoughtful questions and insights. It was fun to listen in.
“I’ll write to you in Texas” was the reaction from Arnold’s wife after he expressed an interest in exploring academic teaching opportunities in the Texas area during the early 70s. Looks like Arnold finally succeeded some 50 years later. I hope they are enjoying their time in Austin!
Enjoyable and worth a listen. I knew some of Kling's story but this added some good stuff. Arnold-- I've been recommending you as a guest for some podcasts I like; we'll see if that ever happens. Thank you.
When will we see some more Kling interviews? Or live book discussions?
Possibly with a student volunteer as either interviewer, interviewee, or on a panel.
(Now I'll listen to the podcast in background.)
-- Nope, read transcript, not always be sure who is talking but pretty close.
I slightly remembered Indigo Girls, a bit, so put them on background as I read.

Christians believe we are made in the image of God. Now humans make ai, in the image of man. I had this image of a mirror reflecting another mirror image.
+Billy Idol (Gen X): Dancing By Myself, "with record selection & the mirror reflection", one of my favorite karaoke songs.
Then Indigo Girls: Least Complicated has a line "I'm just a mirror of a mirror of myself" (was on background, went back to listen & see cool video of a folk rock duo)

Which definition of self-recommending will win out? Recommending something to yourself, or recommending to others something you created/appeared on.
