I understand people who think subsidized day care and larger teacher unions are a great idea and they voted for the Democrats, they won, and the Democrats are delivering.
I understand people who think subsidized day care and larger teacher unions are a terrible thing and they voted for the Republicans and lost.
I am puzzled by people like Kling who seemed to be neutral or even lean left during the election season, and now that the Democrats are following through on what they said they were going to do, now are claiming that these policies are disastrous.
I haven't followed Kling that closely but just because he doesn't come off as a Trump voter doesn't mean he was unaware that Biden might try an implement a progressive agenda. Right or wrong a lot of centrists went voted for Biden because of their displeasure for Trump first and foremost.
The vaccines carry a significant risk of injury or death, which nurses in hospitals frequently see. Why do you think thousands of them have accepted firing rather than comply with vaccine mandates? They're in a position to know, and they aren't being paid for each Covid death as the hospitals are. I trust their judgment. I don't think that is an uneducated reason.
I see it as the educated being "manipulated" into being somewhat caring for their fellows, not wanting to infect them with a disease. That certainly explains masking, which is only minimal protective of the wearer. "Fear" need have nothing to do with it.

But according to the Elites (incl. Pinker), such nurses are insane anti-vaxers.
