Monday, October 3, at 8 PM NY time we will have another live event for paid subscribers over Zoom. The topic will be, “Is the inflation surge over?”
To sharpen your thinking on this, ask yourself whether it is better to be a lender or borrower in the long-term corporate bond market these days. I think that a high-grade 10-year corporate bond as of this writing has an interest rate of about 5.0 percent. If you think that inflation over the next ten years will average 3 percent or less, you probably want to be a lender. If you think inflation will average 4 percent or more, you probably would rather be a borrower.
