Discussion on January 9: Class Conflict or Gender Conflict?

arnoldkling.substack.com

Should we be describing polarization in the U.S. as a class conflict, a gender conflict, or some combination of the two? We will have a discussion of this on Zoom, for paid subscribers. Eric Kaufmann will join us. He is in London, so we will meet at 10 AM NY time, Monday, January 9. Link for paid subscribers will be posted early in January. Meanwhile, below are some readings I suggest.

Ken Kesey, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

Joyce Benenson, Warriors and Worriers.

Michael Lind, The COVID Class War Heats Up and The Importance of James Burnham

Joel Kotkin, Our Neo-Feudal Future

Eric Kaufmann, Diverse and Divided

Think this is missing the obvious third axis, racial conflict, which is clearly more significant than either of the other two, at least in terms of voting patterns/polarization.
